SAP C4C Certification Eligibility, Fees, and Exam Pattern

SAP C4C Certification: Eligibility, Fees, and Exam Pattern
In the last 10 years, the industry has shifted drastically from old, expensive systems to cloud computing. Cloud computing has offered systems that adjust to market demands, eliminating residual costs, and has become the norm. It is only in this market and cloud computing that getting an SAP C4C certification is so relevant for IT consultants and professionals.
Understanding SAP C4C: The Future of CRM
SAP C4C is SAP's only answer for the fast-growing number of on-demand cloud offerings and service competitors for Salesforce. Holding competitive service for SAP C4C is built on the HANA Cloud Platform, and is designed for a 360 view of the customer journey.
SAP C4C consists of 3 main bundles:
- Sales on Demand
- Service on Demand
- Social on Demand
With this and the browser-based interfaces (Silverlight UI), mobile applications (for iOS and Android), and quick measures for SAP ERP integrated with SAP CRM, it is easy to see why SAP C4C is a premier choice around the world, and SAP C4C is a service for Nestle, Bentley, and Coca-Cola.

SAP's Market Share (2nd Position)
Recently, there have been significant changes in the global talent market, resulting in a surge in certifications, particularly the SAP C4C Certification. Currently, 30% of the US workforce consists of freelancers, and this is projected to rise to 50% in the coming years. The same trends are seen in the UK and Asia, where independent consulting has become an established and credible profession.
In this boost to the freelancing economy, staying marketable has become more critical than ever, and in the world of certifications, the SAP C4C Certification is top-tier. The overwhelming majority (95%) of people in the industry stand firm on the idea that SAP Certified Consultants are more likely to receive job offers and improve their salary expectations.
Eligibility and Prerequisites
Due to the certifications' expanding popularity, there have been multiple paths created to ensure anyone can begin the journey to obtain their certification.
- Professional Background: Most successful C4C consultants come from an on-premise SAP CRM, customer management, or supply chain background.
- Skill Set: The Knowledge Hub has the building blocks you need for the gap in knowledge that moving from on-premise to cloud creates. Understanding basic CRM processes is an asset.
- Technical Readiness: Those interested in the development track need to have some knowledge of the SAP Cloud Application Studio.
Exam Patterns and Certification Tracks
SAP has simplified the certification process to three main curricula strands. Candidates can select whichever track is most applicable to their job role.
1. SAP Certified Application Associate (C_C4C10 & C_C4C30)
This path is typically taken by functional consultants, business analysts, and project managers. It is centered on project delivery and the C4C business use case.
2. SAP Certified Integration Associate
This track is for anyone who will be responsible for the challenging task of integrating C4C with the legacy systems (e.g., SAP ERP or SAP CRM). It is vital for solution architects and technical leads.
3. SAP Certified Development Associate
This track is for developers. The exam centres around the SAP Cloud Application Studio and focuses on modifying and enhancing the C4C solution.
Exam Delivery
You can now take your exams through the Certification Hub. This means you can take your exams from home or from your office on your computer. You do not have to go to a testing center anymore.
SAP C4C Training and Preparation: SAP Learning Hub
The SAP Learning Hub is the main resource to use in preparation for the SAP C4C certification. This is a cloud-based learning service, which means you can access it at any point, and it even has more than 5,000 resources and SAP books.
The Learning Hub includes:
- Learning Rooms: These are collaborative spaces where you can speak with the experts and other consultants in real time, about a specific topic. You can ask questions, give your comments, and attend webinars about a specific topic.
- Learning Maps: These are preparatory guides to give you a more straightforward approach to what to take to be ready for the certification.
- Live System Access: This means you can practice in a live SAP setting. This is much better than a shared sandbox because it means you have your own private space where you can work as much as you want, and no one can mess with your work.
Costs and Subscription Fees
Getting an SAP C4C certification will include multiple components. These are based on the pricing given for SAP and partner early bird opportunities like K2 Partnering Solutions.
You need a 12-month subscription for access to the course materials.
- Standard List Price: Generally more expensive when you buy directly from SAP.
- Partner Pricing (for example K2): Generally a lower price which can range from €1,980 up to €2,200. This means you could potentially save €400 from the standard price. A few partners can offer payment plans (split over 3 or 6 months) so that this cost can be spread out over time.
This is an additional license you need to buy to take the actual exams.
- Quota: This license lets you take 6 exams within a year. This is a cushion in case you don't pass an exam the first time or want to add on extra certifications for SAP Hybris.
You buy practice time in set intervals and can purchase access to a live environment.
- Cost: 20 hours of service costs about €150 - €420. Depending upon the complexity of the system (i.e., the differences between C4C and HANA systems). 20 hours of service can be used any time in the next 30 days.
Strategic Advantage in the Market
One of the reasons for the increased need for C4C certification is the change in consumer buying behavior. The modern consumer is digitally connected and socially intertwined. A consumer can now easily abandon their shopping cart if there is negative feedback about the product online. Businesses need intricate CRM tools (like C4C) to successfully navigate the complex customer interactions.
You need to be part of this change. As a valid consultant, the change in C4C project roles in Europe over the past year has opened the door for you now. Becoming certified now means you will be one of the first to take advantage of this market, which is expected to last for the next 5 - 6 years.
Think of the transition from on-premise CRM to SAP C4C like the transition from having to maintain a huge and expensive library in your basement to owning a high-speed e-reader. The basement library (on-premise) is a hassle to maintain and takes up a lot of space. The e-reader (cloud) gives you the latest and greatest, is easy to maintain, and is accessible anywhere. The certification is like your membership card to the most exclusive global book club. It proves you know how to find the most important and valuable information to drive success in your business in the digital library.
Conclusion
Achieving your SAP C4C Certification helps you transition from traditional on-premise systems to the fully evolving cloud CRM space. Practicing in the SAP learning hub and gaining access to the Certification hub help you in your career. Although there is a huge investment in licenses and training, the SAP C4C Certification helps you gain a successful standing in the IT market, having a great impact on your salary, marketability, and professional reputation.
